What to Expect Day of Surgery
Once the area for surgery has been numbed, the area is excised by making an incision around the lesion, including a relevant amount of clear skin dependent on diagnosis. The wound is then closed with stitches. Stitches usually remain in place for 7-14 days, unless dissolvable stitches are used. This is then sent to the laboratory for analysis, and you will be notified of the results within 7 days.
