Efudex
Apply Efudex cream to ____________________(area)________________times a day
for __________weeks.
• Efudex treats pre-cancerous skin cells by destroying the damaged cells on your skin.
• It not only treats precancerous lesions that are visible but also underlying damaged skin cells that have not yet become visible.
• Stinging, burning, crusting, and peeling are common side effects when applying the cream to the area.
• The more pre-cancerous damage you have the more likely you are to experience these symptoms.
• When you stop treatment, your skin will begin to heal over the next few weeks.
• The new skin may appear redder than normal but will fade over the next few months
Tips While using Efudex
• Wash your hands immediately after applying Efudex to the area, or apply with gloves on
• DO NO get Efudex in your eyes or ingest the medication
• Keep away from pets and small children
• Avoid the sun while using Efudex, as the sun can intensify the reaction
• Use a gentle cleanser and moisturizer as directed during treatment
• You may use make-up during treatment
• You may apply Vaseline to the area to aid crusting and prevent infection.
• We recommend applying sunscreen to the area to prevent further sun damage (SPF 30 or higher)
